Excerpts from Neil Osborne, President Mystic Valley Area NAACP on Charleston South Carolina tragedy who gave keynote address during Interfaith Vigil.
Even though the shooting took place 1,000 miles away — at Charleston’s historic Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church — the tragedy still has implications for Medford and all communities.
“That kid at 21 didn’t just roll out of bed hating black people. There was a system that encouraged him, that got to him and then we have a tragedy.”
